BITTER SHOW

nephilim56

I will measure the day
As a bird measures flight
Raindrops on windows
Frost in the night
I will remember such thoughts
When a calm day arrives
Wipe away tears
When the deep pain subsides.

In echo of hope
As it travels away
A ship in the distance
Or an unanswered prayer
Sunsets eye closes
Sunrise brings a smile
Upon the face of an infant
A wondering child.

Down by the beach
Waves move each in tune
The sand dunes nearby
The bright watching moon
Seagulls on high
Deep sea below
Emotion vibrates
In lifes bitter show.

This poem gage a feeling throughout of nature and beauty to be turned about with the last line and the words (bitter show) that seemed to be incongruous with the flow. It is this that gave the poem its charm and appeal. Most lovely making the mind put on the breaks and reconsider the direction it was headed in.

I wish I could measure the day like a bird measures its flight. It sounds very comforting. Greetings, and thank you so much for sharing.
