Song of the sea. (Please read out loud for best effect.)

Jan bach

With the tide

A wave rushes in,

Rises up

And falls back.

Ceaseless ebb and flow.

Shhhhh– sings the sea.

Soft

Soothing

Submerging sand.

Tsssss – sighs the shingle.

Grittily rasping,

Returning to the ocean.

Incessant motion

Constant rhythm

Waves rise and rushhh to claim the shore.

Shhhhh –

Tssssss  –

Hypnotic

Eternal

Melodious

Soothing sound.

Great use of onomatope and alliteration to create a mood that accompanies the words of the poem. Peaceful and lovely
