there's a starman waiting in the sky

DeadRose

There’s a star mannnn

waiting in the sky

He’d like to come and meet us

but he fears he’ll blow our minds

and I’m left here, wonddeeeering

If i’ll ever touch the clouds.

I reach for them in silence,

longing to see what hides behind.

She dreams too much, they whisper,

doesn't know what they have planned for her.

The men who have never dined

The nectre of all the galaxies intertwined.

Theres a star girlllllllllll

Stuck roaming the ends of earth

She’d like to go and meet him but

shes indecisive, driven out of her mind.

She doesn't want a marriage,

Nor the hush of a common life,

Her mother watches the heavens,

and worries what her sky-born girl will find.

Why can’t I be a starrr girrlll,

charting, wandering the galaxy?

If I stay in this illusion of freedom,

will I shiiiiine, or cease to be?

A lovely fantasy love that one wishes it would be. The last line is the kicker would one be shining or nonexistent if it were so.

A lovely write of one desire of how love you should be, it's nice to have a nod to Mr Bowie, enjoyed the read
