Way back when,
They use to say, “The days a crawling but the years are running!”
But today we say, “The days are running and the years are flying!”
I just can’t keep up!

A fun and clever play on change and wording make this a most pleasurable read. Well done
Thank you! I can’t be the only one who thinks everything is going faster?☺️ Maybe it’s all in my head?😀
The older I get the faster things go and this is added to by a frenzied world where fast food is too slow.
Yes indeed, the virtue of patients seems to be vanishing with every technological breakthrough, as if the whole world is in a hurry. It is hard to keep up and in endeavouring to do so - time flies. We must sit back and smell the roses, as my parents use to say. Your poem is leisurely composed contradicting the theme therein which gives essence to your plight - 'I just can't keep up!' A most enjoyable read.
Kind regards,
Tony.
