WHISPER OF AFTERNOON

Jyoti Kavya

On a gentle afternoon, beneath the sky so blue,

soft white clouds float by, the sun's warm hue.

A small stream dances, its whispers sweet,

green fields stretch out, bare beneath my feet.

Blossoms in white and yellow, in joyous bloom,

their scent carried far, on the breezer's plume.

Cool air caresses, trees whispering in kind,

a perfect balances, neither harsh nor confined.

A bird alights above, chirping in soft call,

seeking its mate, as shadows gently fall.

Under this tree, in nature's embrace,

memories unfold, each a precious trace.

I recall those moments, with loved ones near,

laughter & joy, ever so clear.

In this tranquil scene, my heart finds peace,

Nature's beauty, a gentle release.

  • Comment from author about the poem: Nature has a way of holding memories in its embrace—whispering stories through rustling leaves, carrying laughter on the breeze, and painting moments in the hues of a gentle afternoon. This poem was born from a quiet reflection on those fleeting yet profound instances when the world slows down, and the heart finds solace in its surroundings.
