Flicker of light

Natalie Heisey

Cracked mirror stares, a soul worn thin, Another day lost, where do I begin? This world's a storm, tearing at the seams, Lost in the echo of broken dreams.

Each breath a fight, a silent scream,

Haunted by shadows, nothing's as it seems.Heartbeat fading, in the dead of night, Just trying to find a flicker of light.

Empty promises, like whispers in the rain, Washing away hope, leaving only pain. Aching inside, a hollow space, Lost in the maze of a fallen grace.

Each breath a fight, a silent scream, Haunted by shadows, nothing's as it seems.Heartbeat fading, in the dead of night, Just trying to find a flicker of light.

Is there a way out, a path to find? Or just keep running, leave it all behind? Each breath a fight, a silent scream,

Haunted by shadows, nothing's as it seems. Heartbeat fading, in the dead of night, Just trying to find a flicker of light.

Metaphoric this poem speaks to the difficulty of finding hope and the continual search for it. Nicely imaged and worded it has an anxious feel to it. Lovely
