Pinned
I've been pinned down and I'm surrendering,
swinging fists at my thoughts no defending.
Cut lipped, broken nosed, swollen eyes blinded,
unstoppable moment of past notions reminded.
Visions grab at my fears cape dancing squares,
none of that, none of that moment it spares.
Trapped I'm viewing ghosts all surrounding me,
reliving and feeling the sensations I see.
Pinned I need help, yes help breaking,
fists hitting my mind the damage it's taking.
No defending, no defending when this appears,
when reliving past painful moments of fears.
I have to surrender and relive this, yes that.
If you see me frozen, pinned is where I'm at.

- Comment from author about the poem: How does one explain what is happening when PTSD takes hold. Hope this helps knock some words loose for you to write to explain what happens to you.
