WHEN WINTER COMES

nephilim56

When Winter comes
In its harshness
Old age pensioners
Search for warmth
Some will ride on buses
Go to libraries or church.

A cost saving exercise
By politicians
Breakfast clubs
For hungry kids at school
More and more in poverty
Austerity a killing tool.

There simply is no way out
They have you by the balls
Squeezing ever tighter
No one to hear your calls
Job or no job makes no difference
Rising costs outstrip the wage
Ever wondered about democracy ?
We are merely slaves.

Capitalistic democracy sells its birthright for a pot of porridge. People would rather be a comfortable slave than a working freeman. Such is the state of humanity. Most well written

Wow, I can feel like I've known this formula since I was a kid. A vicious cycle that attacks everything good in this life until its time is up. Strength to resist. Cheers.
