The levee breaks

The levee breaks

When the levee breaks it comes through,
floods the valley where I wait for my you,
where the visions of me dying is the view.

I was raining down memories morning the past,
cracked the levee and thought it would last,
when it broke it came down it emptied fast.

Kisses from dreams brought the rain filled tears,
I'd been sitting on a levee and raining for years,
I was drenched echoing, watching all of my fears.

Now the ridge drips and I wait empty sided,
the thoughts changing, still I'm unguided,
I'm sitting viewing, alone empty and divided.
