Rome, Africa’s disobedient child

…..I am Caesar, no mere geezer and I  suffer from no fever,  nor is this a teaser of what is to come, pay no attention to the rocks stuck in my gum, our physicians were dumb, it was lead cups we drunk from, if only our engineers were our physicians, like our murderers were politicians, wish our scientists weren’t so superstitious, like a great many of my peers were suspicious, filled with crippling ambitions, populous cursed with leprosy and psoriasis, I pray to the gods but even our priest sigh at this, I look up at the future only cause you all admire this, like us, you should have listened to the more ancient, I believe their knowledge was written down on thin sheets of papyruses.

A fun poem to read with all of its internal rhyme. Very nice

Thanks, just a touch of truth smothered in a nice rhyme

Ignorance is not bliss, is it really? There are truths there, particularly the latter half, once you part the rhymes; truths more solid then those thin papyruses.

Truths, many aren’t ready for; but it’s okay, truth doesn’t always have to be spoken because the truth just is, not because we say it is…

        • Doggerel Dave

Precicely the way I see it - Truth just is.

          Take care of yourself.

This inverted world we live in. The more I try to find out (at least some of) what happened the less I know!

The true history of man could heal many of society’s issues
