Inertia

Mela

I shall never move

Stuck in time at the moments I knew love

Lost in a trance with a memories of ecstasy

Replaying conversations like my favorite song

I am stuck in the past as the world around me crumbles to dust

Trying to save the hall of memories as the roof sinks in

Holding on to the pictures of happy moments frozen in time as everyone else escape

Left alone with the ghosts of who we used to be

I fear what is ahead, I can not tell what . mysteries await so I stay

I would rather die in these ruins happy that live in the tower built on the broken promises

I will replay the memories until my brain gives out

Wipe the tears until my skin falls off

Live the lie until the truth kills me

Embrace the images until the ink rubs off

I will stay in a moment frozen in time where I knew happiness

Where I wished the world had stopped there instead

Wishing to stay in the past is quite common among those suffering in the present. Nicely done

A moving poem about a heartbroken, immobilizing feeling….This poem is a favorite because I relate very much. ❤️
