Fake/truth

Natalie Heisey

They talk behind my back, say I'm too loud, Complain that I'm a storm cloud in their crowd. But they don't get it, they just can't see, The snakes in the grass, the phonies surrounding me.

I've seen the grins that hide the daggers, The sweet talk that turns into disaster. I'm not buying it, not even a bit, I see the venom dripping from their lip.

I taste the fake, it's bitter and cold, See through the lies, stories get old. You can know someone, but never know all, When the mask cracks, watch the bastards fall.

It's blind to your eyes, but clear as day to mine,I spot the frauds every damn time. It's all a charade, a carefully built lie, Games they play, but I see through their alibi.

I've seen the grins that hide the daggers, The sweet talk that turns into disaster. I'm not buying it, not even a bit,i see the venom dripping from their lip.

I taste the fake, it's bitter and cold, See through the lies, stories get old. You can know someone, but never know all, When the mask cracks, watch the bastards fall.

They try to blindside you 'til the bitter end, But I'm awake, and I refuse to bend. I'll stand my ground, speak my truth, Leave all the traitors in their youth.

I taste the fake, it's bitter and cold, See through the lies, stories get old. You can know someone, but never know all, When the mask cracks, watch the bastards fall.

Yeah, the rot seeps through, I see it all, it's nothing new. I'll keep it real, stay true  And break free from all of you.
