The Moon on the Sky Ukrainian Folklore

Ksey_Gan

The moon in the vast sky, the stars are shining,

A boat is sailing quietly across the sea.

In the boat, a girl is singing a song, charming,

And the Cossack hears - his heart deadly pleas.

A song that is sweet  so endless, a song sweet so.

All about mutual love, all about mutual love vain.

How we loved - and then we parted also.

Now we have come together forever again.

Oh, eyes, eyes, girl's eyes glamorous,

Dark as sad  night, clear as gay day.

You taught me, her eyes, how to cry obvious.

Where did you learn to seduce people away?
