The Highway Men

shadowbones

Leaving behind something

A sick trail of guts along the road

Burnt pockets of flesh

Thoughtless mind

At the end of the day

Brains turns to mush

The smoke rises

They cry

Praying for second chances

Lifeless remorse

Fire

Let it burn

Fire strengthens

As it hurls down

Slapping the ground

Strewn out across the road

A soulless body is found

They are jealous

Their day to pass the highway

Freeway bridge's twisted corpse

Endlessly wanting
