HER BROKEN HEART

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

She cannot hide
The broken heart
That she conceals
Within her art
Each brushstroke
Canvas kissed
Each hidden tear
A memory missed.

She removes
From her face
Distracting hair
That slips from place
Her eyes intense
Seem distant far
Her longing upon
A wishing star.

Her lover now
Has moved away
Leaving her
With nothing to say
Even though
She cannot hide
The broken heart
Which beats inside.
