Central fire

Maplespal

Central fire

Ritually stoked for the soul sets free,
through the smoke the Gods can see.
Honoring the notion of beliefs way,
dancing around a central fire this day.

Distantly the warriors watch they stand,
respect and honor felt across the land.
One day they will have their soul set free,
have a central fire for the land to see.

Culture gives the body back to the earth,
burnt and charred the soul has rebirth.
Customs ensures each warrior is burnt,
teachers pass this custom to be learnt.

Now I'm celebrating the life now gone,
honoring the end of this warriors song.
Watching the flames as they grow higher,
today I dance around a central fire.
