I don't listen to this singer anymore
It used to be our favourite
But now, when I hear the songs
I used to vibe with
And I feel disgusted
By the memories I associate it with
Are you glad you have successfully tainted
A source of comfort for me?
One day, I'll move on and I'll let it all go
On to the next singer or genre
Or perhaps I'll listen to the same song again
The bittersweet shivers will still linger
Yet with each deep breath I take,
May my bravery triumph through it all

Associations are so powerful. A poem that makes the point of bad associations with music and a relationship that needs healing.
We attach many memories to music not all being good ones, which makes it very difficult when a relationship for example breaks down, you still love the music but can't listen to it because of the attached memories , nicely expressed and written
its message is clear and many can associate with, enjoyed
