Perfect Life.

Poetic Licence

Perfect Life.

I get tired of people who think they are perfect and always have the perfect life,

However hard I try I cannot help looking at them and thinking that cannot be right.

Everyone has ghosts and skeletons patiently lurking with enthusiastic anticipation.

For the most appropriate time to make their appearance and cause utter devastation.

Everyone has regrets over the many mistakes and bad things they have done.

Have been at some time hurt or cause pain by family, friends, partners and even trusted ones.

No one's life is that smooth and constantly smells like a never-ending bed of roses.

You are not born to be a divine winner sometimes you it is your turn to be a loser.

Yet they continue lecture and preach everyone, it's so easy this is all you have to do.

Just do what me Mr Magic Wonderful has done and all your dreams will come true.

My life experience educates me that there is no such thing as one-size-fits-all.

I tend to think if there was such a thing as perfect what would I be dreaming for.

Do not misunderstand me I would be happy for them if they did have the perfect life.

Though I would worry for them as they convinced themselves with their self-proclaimed lies.

Of course, I understand I could be completely wrong, and they are perfectly right.

So, for once in my life am I in touch with reality or are they living the perfect lie.

They say ignorance is bliss at least until the bubble is popped. A most evocative poem that poses the question of are these people deluded of attempting to delude us. If the former happy they are for now if the latter how miserable would that be. Good write Tobani

The one thing I am sure of is there is no perfect life. We just have to bet with the cards we are dealt.A great thoughtful poem

If (big IF) they are living the perfect life then the most superlative advice one can possibly provide is shut up about it, 'cos be assured someone somewhere somehow will take the buggers down (hey form a queue there!)

Truth echoes in your words—perfection is a myth, but authenticity is real. A brilliant unmasking of the lies we tell ourselves and others.

A poem that remind us that our journey—our experiences, triumphs, and even mistakes—have meaning. That the struggles we face don’t make our life lesser; they make it real. And in reality, there is space for growth, connection, and the kind of authenticity that no illusion of perfection can ever provide. Yes, we are enough, just as we are. Excellent read.🙏🏻🕊️

If we reached perfection in our lives Tobani we would have nothing to look forward to. I have a good life but it is certainly not perfect.
