Its easy to take life
Much like the widower
Who lost his wife
For instances sake
Call him Mr Brown
Upon her death
His world
Fell down.
Old disabled
His carer gone
Now half his welfare
Will be taken
By his government
His mind is shaken.
So what becomes
Of Mr Brown ?
Do not worry
The futures sound
The assisted dying bill
Is near
Soon he can be reunited
With his other.

- Comment from author about the poem: The UK Labour government is introducing a bill which will lead to a large majority of people losing half of their Sickness benefits, the daily living half intended for them to pay to help with neccessary daily chores and activities, carers etc. Its a wide sweep of those with cancer, MS, heart lung chronic pain, the list is endless, even those requiring help with bathing etc. At the same time The Assisted Dying Bill is being introduced for which the Government has discovered it can save a lot of money on benefits pensions etc. I am ashamed that my country, the 6th largest economy in the world has decided to bully the most ill and vunerable in society,

A poem to raise consciousness and ask questions about what happens when the cost of care becomes more than what can be supported. Ethics remolded in a world overpopulated with limited resources. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Well written it makes its point in most poetic form
