Letter to the Sea

Canticle

I wrote a love letter to the sea,

Stashed in a bottle,

I wonder where it’ll be.

Will it land with penguins and learn to waddle?

Will it land with flowers buzzing with bees?

Where will you be bottle?

Maybe in the hands of another,

If she opens it and reads,

Will she send one to the sea?

Alas, my mind is a pot hole,

Waiting to be filled with dreams.

While I wait and dream,

The waves crash,

Dreaming if there is a bottle,

It’ll arrive to me.
