Who shall notice the absence of a star when there are millions of them in the sky.
Your smile sparkles like the lightning on a thunderstorm,
Your eyes glowing like the pearls on the oceans floor,
Luring me to approach the storm,
Only to drown on the depths of the oceans floor.
The things that scare you the most,
Are not the ones that kills you slow,
It is the ones you love,
That shall drag your soul to long.
Being left alone was a nightmare that I didn’t want to bear,
But now I am learning to enjoy the silence of my barren lair.
I am not sure whether to stop my journey with a frightened stare,
Or to face the terrors that may lie ahead.
Someone’s joke was a burden for me to bear,
And The ones who laughed were close to my lair.
Her words were like musical choir,
But soon I realized it was similar to a sirens snare.
I failed not because I was lame,
only because my sight was stained,
Her words still echoes in my brain,
Only to haunt me till my soul gets reaped.
There is no one except me to be blamed,
Because I didn’t see the traps laid for me to trip and fail,
I fell for it not because I was weak,
I went along because I didn’t see the snake under the veil.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem portrays the contrast between physical appearance and inner beauty, the impact of giving fake promises and back stabbing. The person whom you care for the most will have the power to inflict extreme pain. Love is a divine emotion that is pure and has a lot of meaning ,so when you show that love , care and consideration to a person be sure he/she is deserving that and will treasure it as long as time cease to exist. Sometimes we see things with our eyes but think with our heart instead of using our brain. ("it is not your eyes that are blind but your heart is") we learn from our mistakes which serves as a reminder not to repeat the same> Our tragedies might seem like a comedy in another persons point of view so its always better to keep it locked.
