Our Love

Paul Gerard Reed

Our love survives the roaring noise of life

The pounding of the waves on the rocks

It is stronger;

The bright glare of life's lights

And the never-ending night

It is longer;

The guessing game of tomorrow

The decisions, which way to go

It is clearer;

The travelling to far-off lands

Forever away from home

It is nearer;

The endless words and discourse

The empty phrases and platitudes

It is unspoken;

The binds and ropes that fray

The hands that wave goodbye

It is never broken;

The days that come and go

The breezes that blow through

It watches in it's armchair;

The suns that rise and set

The moons that wax and wane

It is forever there.
