Down on this river stream
I can taste the peaches ‘n’ cream;
I can glide in and out of the clouds,
With true voice I can sing out loud.
Never in my sweet short life did I dream
Of this ever happening to me.
Let me slide down this mountain side,
As I run through forests, the moon as a guide,
Down on a fast-moving belly of water,
You can move so much the faster
What wonders does the mind, at times, conjure?
Down on this streaming, urgent, river!
I turn into the sun the warmth strokes my skin;
But with legs growing longer every second
I am travelling towards the upstream, it beckons
Me to ride a soft cloud to sail to where I begin,
No going back, only onward into the everglades
Where shade and light and shadow play.
The talking waters present good company,
You are never alone with the sounds of the river,
Listen with careful intent to the sound they deliver,
Never a moment, unintentionally or otherwise goes by,
But down on this noisy upstream
A watery way with words is not what they seem.

Great write
A beautiful picture you paint in words makes me nostalgic for those places of my youth. Lovely
A lovely write the sense of freedom the river offers, painting a nice picture as you read the write, enjoyed the read
