Splash

A deck of cards spread across the floor,
toothpicks thrown on top like shards.
Mud stains, water reseeds back to the shore,
washed out like garbage in natures yard.
Distanced from the land movement from the crust,
built a wall of water and at us it thrust.
Relief from the worldly pressures sought,
once the water has given up and retreated.
Destruction and death our planet brought,
years of cleanup still to be completed.

And that was just a splash.
