Young yet beyond

mya

children and adolescents often
come off as stubborn or mischievous,
but within them is rooted
the gallantry and firm faith
of a believer, a fighter.

deep inside them lies
a thriving desire—an impatient ache—
to achieve what they believe
is in their ability and reach,
even when they are ridiculed.

they aren't ignorant of rationality,
but they aren't ignorant of living either.

These kids aren't afraid of challenge,
nor challenging held beliefs.
they aren't afraid of pushing
their own limits—
to be the best, at any cost.

they know what they want,
and they will go at war for it.
Life moves with principles and systems,
but children race it at their chosen pace.

children don't fear trying,
nor do they fear failing.
they search for what they lack—
and greedily follow its back.
