We were never truly separate.
We were a sigh of the same light, a spark from the original fire that chose to split only to remember itself.
You are not just you.
I am not just me.
We are the same essence in different disguises, playing at being lost just to taste reunion.
Every face I see carries a hidden reflection of me.
Every embrace that reaches me
is a fragment of return.
There are no soulmates—only soul memories that awaken when someone looks at us as if they’ve seen us before.
We are leaves from the same tree, waves from the same river, flames from the same fire.
You, me, them—we all come from the same source.
And if ever I forget who I am, remind me with your presence: that is the purest sign we are still connected.

- Comment from author about the poem: This poem reflects a deeply personal truth: that we are all expressions of one soul, one light. It may challenge some beliefs, but it comes from a place of love and remembrance.
