Blind sight

Nicole Pritchard

Blind by affection, I didn't see

The strings attached, the manipulation's spree

You showered me with words, a gentle rain

But beneath the surface, a toxic game

Your love was a storm, intense and wild

Leaving me breathless, yet feeling beguiled

I didn't know the signs, the red flags high

I thought it was love, but it was a disguise

You wove a web of flattery and praise

I got caught up, in the whirlwind's daze

But now I see, the truth unveiled

A pattern of control, a love that's failed

I'm learning to heal, to break the chains

To recognize the signs, the love bombing games

I'll rise above, with a heart that's wise

And find true love, with open eyes
