I WILL WRITE TO HEAVEN YOUR STORY(ii)
Remember when you left—
Without a farewell,
Without a whisper if you'd return.
It struck like an earthquake in our hearts.
When you left, the whole family wept.
Friends cried too—
Even the ones you never told me about.
Your funeral came so quickly,
And the atmosphere was never the same.
An hour after your burial,
The tears began to slow.
Life, in part, faded from passion,
And your family returned—
Back to serve the waiting guests.
Meanwhile…
Your body met the silent work
Of organisms in the soil.
