My Zarathustra

erendis

You are the one who roused me from sleep
You are the one who spoke to me
In untimely words against the herd
I knew you, and my heart was stirred

Companion I would be to you
As we defiantly sojourn
Shattering, burning, burying all

The rapturous call, the divine fall
To go under...

We give our blood to earth itself
In addiction and catastrophe
To bring the horizon forward
We give our souls a reason why

The ocean drinks polluted streams
And it does not become unclean
Luring, tempting more to strive
To bring themselves again to life

Beguiled in sacred alchemy
In fateful transformation
Descend into the depths
Into doubt that leads to death

Companion I would be to you
Shattering, burning, burying all
Defiantly we sojourn
Your antler crown frames the dawn
The last men scorn the path of one
Who goes under...

As adversary, you made war
Your vitriol not meant for all
Creator, dazzling, above the rest
Reaching through the chrysalis
To spread your wings and fly at last

  • Comment from author about the poem: Reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra inspired me to write this. Nietzsche was absolutely one of a kind, and his words helped free me from years of abuse in organized religion.
