“Bent, Not Broken”

Job Welime

We don’t talk the way we used to.
Your silence is louder than the words we never say.
And I ;I keep replaying old laughter like voice notes in my head
Trying to remind myself that love once lived here.
Still does, Maybe.

You say we’re falling apart; I say we’re falling through.
Like two mismatched puzzle pieces
That once fit And now we don’t know where the edges went.

You look at me like a stranger.
I look at you like a memory I’m not ready to forget.
You say we’re broken; I say We’re just bent.

Bent like branches in a storm,
Like vows under pressure,
Like hearts too proud to cry but too tired to walk away.

I don’t want forever if it’s fake.
But I don’t want goodbye if it’s fixable.
So I stand here,One foot on goodbye, one on "try again"
And I whisper through the wreckage; Just give me a reason.
One reason to believe that we can rebuild,
That this house of love can still be a home
If we dust off the pain
And learn to speak, Not just react.

I’m not asking for perfect. Just for honest.
For eye contact.For effort.
For you to meet me in the middle of the mess
And say: “I still choose you.”

Because I do. Even now.
Even when it hurts.

So no, We’re not broken.
Just bent,And maybe...
That’s enough.
