*Just Memories*
Life's a rollercoaster, full of twists and turns
Funny, tricky, frustrating, yet we yearn
For meaning, purpose, and a sense of peace
But sometimes emptiness creeps in, and we can't release
There were times I felt lost, wanted to break free
Wanted to escape the pain, find liberty
But now, the thought of leaving's hard to bear
Painful to lose loved ones, beyond repair
Just yesterday, we laughed, joked, and shared
Today, they're gone, and it's hard to be spared
The thought of my own mortality's unsettling
Will I be remembered, or just a fleeting feeling?
Will I be prepared, or caught off guard?
Will my legacy live on, or be scarred?
These questions haunt me, make me pause
And appreciate the beauty in life's fleeting cause
Once I sought escape, but now I'm afraid
Afraid of the unknown, the final fade

Change is intimidating especially as we age. A lovely writ about such reticence. Nicely done
Thank you!!!
As we get older change is worrying and we fear not being remembered in passing, and worry what we will be remembered for, enjoyed the read
Thank you!!
