Like Summer

Like Summer

I felt it— a feeling I thought I'd lost, tucked beneath the rubble of too many yesterdays. It came quiet, like a bird landing on an open palm, familiar in its shape but foreign in its ease.

The ghost that always hovered, its sigh in every breath, was gone. Not vanquished—just absent. Like grief stepping out for air.

And I—I was lighter. Like wind had found my spine. Like I could stretch my wings without apology.

I know sadness will return, as sure as summer gives itself to winter. But today, my skin remembers warmth. And I’m not afraid to feel it.

Beautifully expressed pent up feelings released and a lighter feeling where weather and sun relieves the soul. Well written
