I will write to heavens your story (iv)

*DAY 4*

*I Will Write to Heaven Your Story (IV)*

Six hours later,

Your family house fell into deep silence.

Only the closest stayed

The rest departed,

Leaving behind your candle still burning.

Before they left,

Your family handed out food packs--

Tradition wrapped in grief and sorrow.

The house grew quiet,

your aging parents sat still—

As quiet as your grave.

Perhaps reality settled in:

That you are truly gone.

That they won't see you anymore.

Now, your body settled.

Your warmth fading slowly,

Temperature dropping

Like air leaking from an open balloon.

Did you notice?

Your grave began to swell—

Like your mother’s womb once did,

this time, not with life…

But with your final rest.

Very dark this poem takes one through the departure phase of life from the eyes of another. Sad is the feeling left behind. Nicely written
