DIVORCED FATHER AT XMAS

nephilim56 ( Norman Dickson)

The grey skies
Of Winter
My heart wrapped
In the clouds
My footsteps
On gravel
Beneath snows
Crunching sound.

The neon lights
Of the season
Carols are sung
Music plays loudly
Childrens echo
Begun.

The Xmas clock chimes
Merely five feet away
Bobble hat soaked
The sound of the sleigh
Santa Claus passes
Delight to the crowd
Children on shoulders
Of parents so proud.

But the grey skies
Of Winter
My heart wrapped
In the clouds
My footsteps
On gravel
My child
No longer around.
