Great men
stand taller
than the countries
they serve
Honor
and courage
the bureaucrats
scourge
To sacrifice
self
without
question or pause
And champion
the weak
in defense
— of their cause

Excellent write Kurt
Thanks so much, Tony.
You're welcome
Unfortunately true this poem casts doubts on what we vote and fight for. Duped seems the best word I can come up with. Well written it gives much to think about.
I love our greatest founding father, George Washington. He was the wealthiest man in the Colonies
when he put it all on the line. If the British had captured him, he would have been drawn and quartered in front
of Buckingham Palace.
I'm finishing the last book in a series that I starting writing almost 20 years ago. It's 9 books dealing with courage,
honor, and devotion to duty. Washington will always be the benchmark we should aspire to be.
Thanks Soren.
Kurt
Thank you for sharing that it sounds most intriguing. Washington unlike the present president turned down continued terms of presidency or kingship a noble man. Since him I have not been very impressed with following presidents, even Lincoln after finding several details I was not taught in school.
I'd take Teddy Roosevelt or Winston Churchill (whose mother was American). Many scholars say he was eligible to be President if he had wanted to run. You can Google it.
Prime Video has a 'new' series on Teddy Roosevelt called 'Elkhorn.'
Thank you Kurt
A stirring call to valor here—rooted in that classical sense of honor and self-sacrifice. You carried the form cleanly and the message with conviction. Nicely done, my friend. 🌹👏
Again, many thanks. It's been the backbone and wellspring of my writing.
