wired for the divine

gray0328

we wander through empty rooms

searching for what fills absence

hands grasping at fleeting shadows

hearts weary from chasing lies

how can the ocean be enough

when thirst roots in the soul

how can love from others mend

a crack carved before our time

we are vessels born to overflow

but not by what the world provides

only the infinite can fill the void

only the eternal quiets the ache

we were made to know something

greater than all we can touch

our longing is not a fault

it is a map back to god
