According To Plan

Once again, things didn't go according to plan,

And the downward spiral all started with the disappointment of a man.

Another one that you thought was different but ended up letting you down,

And how quickly that smiled turned into a frown.

It's been too long, and it's time to let it all go,

But this is something that you already know.

Just when you thought it was over, it ended up happening again,

Where you thought it was going to be something more, but it ended up that you two weren't even meant to be friends.

And the job that you thought you were going to get ended up not being for you,

And it felt like you got betrayed, because you did everything you were supposed to do.

You are left there, crying on the floor, falling apart from feeling so lonely, betrayed, and hurt,

And the tears start to fall as you see pieces of your heart break and fall apart in the dirt.

It seems like everything you dreamed of was falling apart and slipping through your hands,

But it didn't take long to realize that until you are successful, you are going to be your own fan.

Maybe things didn't play out because you deserve something better in every aspect of the life that you were meant to live,

And that you weren't meant to settle because there is so much more for you to give.

Your purpose is so much higher than what you were aiming for,

And that dream was shut down because you were meant to open a better door.

Maybe for the time being, you were made to be alone,

Only so you can find yourself on the path that will take you home.

One that allows you to fulfill everything you have ever dreamed of,

And will allow you to pursue your dreams while discovering your true love.

Not just for a partner, but in yourself and in your dreams,

And you needed to fall apart in order to discover what it all truly means.

That the rejection happened so everything can fall into place,

And that you will finish the race, even if it is at your own pace.

The blessing was missing what you wanted, and realizing that you needed that rejection,

So you can finally go full force into what you want and become thankful for that redirection.
