he cries in the dark corners
while i stack brick by brick
a wall that reaches the sky
shadowing the light within me
i smooth its edges with dust
hiding every crack with silence
proud of this fortress i build
yet blind to the one imprisoned
this wall bears my name boldly
but it drowns my true essence
for every stone i lay higher
i drift further from myself

Compartmentalization to hide from oneself what is not acceptable. A deep dive into the psyche. Nicely written Gray
