You used to look at me
like I was your favorite thing in the world.
Now I feel like the mistake you regret.
Funny how love can turn into something that hurts so much.
If I had the chance again,
maybe I wouldn’t reply to that first text.
Maybe I’d walk away before it began.
But the truth is
I loved every part of us.
Every laugh, every moment, even the pain.
You showed me something real
that loving someone doesn’t always mean staying.
Sometimes it means letting them go,
even when it breaks you.
Even when they don’t want your love anymore.
We cared for each other.
We tried.
But life had other plans.
We held on until you had to let go.
And when you did
you didn’t just leave.
You walked away like we were strangers,
like I was someone you had to hate.
Why did it have to end like that?
Why did we become enemies
when all we ever wanted was to love?
I can’t finish this poem.
Not here. Not now.
Maybe one day
in another life,
when we meet again,
we’ll get it right.

Pain of loss is evident in this poem that speaks out honestly to another that is no longer there. Well written from the heart.
Sad and touching write at the loss and pain of a loved one moving on, but still longing that one day the poem can be finished, nicely expressed and written
