What I know

juwaireeyah

What is that supposed to mean?

You say I don't see the big picture

You say I don't know my worth,

I don't know my value better than you

I don't know what's ahead

or how I'll be on top if I leave it all to you

You say I could do so much better

If I leave it all to you

But you don't even know me

I'm the one that fought my battles in the dark

-no one came to save me

God had to send his angels

-no one else could guard me

You never even saw my scars

-I had to get through it

Tell me where were you?

Where were you?

You want to tell me what I don't know

When you are the one who was supposed to teach me

Infantilized and enmeshed

You left me to the wolves

It's too late to ask me to put my

trust in you

Clearly it's all up to me

and it always has been

To give oneself to another is a dangerous thing. a write of courage and self reliance. Well done
