Behind Closed Doors (Part.2) - Jordan's Sacrifice

Shaunmatthewcpoetry

So did Michael Jordan really give up his father?

Killing for riches takes people further and farther.

Away from what we were supposed to be here for,

Goodness is fulfilling but most just close that door.

Can a soul really equate to Nike Airs and awards?

Basketball courts and those chequerboard floors.

I guess that's why they call it the price of fame,

Celebrities lose loved ones over and over again.

Pledging an allegiance to false gods and demons,

I'd rather be uninitiated than with those heathens.

Remember the Elton John song called Sacrifice,

How hard is it to believe that they're trading lives?

Values shown in actions taken. A questioning poem around what people find important to themselves. Poignant.
