Tattooed Remnants

Eugene S.

of all the things you could say

words you need to know

etched like symbols upon a living soul

"never give in"

that's how my notes flow

for it's the only path

i did ever follow

the words, like needles,

spear me to the core

staining all the layers

inking on the armor

pummeled

blow, after blow, after blow

how many times

with face to the floor

get up, recover

move on

i see the pattern now

such a lonely road

for in the very end

when stains fade

dissolve

i will be the one

to know the words of

a lonely song of sorrow
