Ghost and Puppy

Ghost and Puppy

As I walk and laugh with my friends, pain still looms over me—like a ghost. As I sit with family and feel loved, guilt follows me like a lost puppy. But when I sit alone, the ghost comes out to play with the voices in my head. And the puppy comes out of hiding to chase my thoughts until I forget which ones are mine.

Now this one in metaphor has to be thought about to be understood and even then is deeply psychological. When guilt chases pain away it is a difficult day indeed. Very nicely done.

Sounds like the cure to this is meditation. Clearing the mind of all the dustractions of other peoples thoughts and actions. Nice write.
