"weekend headline remix" (happy poems weekend suite)

"Weekend Headline Remix"

yellow-sun glitch-burst over doomscroll-

drip mornings we rewire the ticker—

Market Crash” becomes “Market Splash

and “Storm Warning” rights itself as “Picnic Dawning.”

newsspout hushes in the park—

we plant tulip-bombs in margins,

smear hopeflicker on last night’s gloom.

our laughter colonises the airwaves,

turning fear-feeds into joyglint streams.

sometime between latte-sips and cloud-graze,

the world forgets its own bad news— weird,

how a sandwich can outshine a stock tumble.

This one brought to mind a scrapbook of newspaper clippings flipped through quickly with only random headings appearing in rapid succession some missed and all meanings in a jumble in the head. What stands out is the last primary needs of the moment always take precedence and we put the worlds worries and others woes aside in that scrapbook of headlines page now turned and forgotten. Nicely done Cryptic

I had myself a few of those scrapbooks myself. After Watergate though it went downhill on the supply side. Thanks Soren🕊️🙏🏻

        Personal immediacy trumps all else...
I'll go with the latte and sandwich - gotta be veggo though....

          Don’t mind that either ☕️🥪

Love how this flips headlines into joy turning dread into something playful and bright. Nicely written.

Arqios, I love this…doomscroll undone, tulip-bombs planted, a sandwich eclipsing the market. Playful and defiant, it makes light itself a protest. 🌹🖤🙏🕯️🐦‍⬛
