Don't fly

Sharvi

I once was young staring at the sky

Aching to fly and lot I've tried

I've jumped from a cliff

Tried flying above streams

Dived into forests

Fell into despair

Before feeling the sky

And worse, I've seen my dreams die

I'm sorry I didn't let you fly

Try something else

Something that'll shush your cries

I know you despise me

But trust me my dear

I once was young

Staring at the sky

Aching to fly

A lot I've tried

As a desire so common to children and adults this poem seems a metaphor as well of trying to reach beyond one's abilities. Nicely written

To dream the impossible is reality hitting you onto the ground!

  • Poetic Licence

We are guilty of this, trying to go that step to far, nicely expressed and written
