you once told me that you can die from a broken heart.

i once told you i’d never leave

you once told me that we would be together forever.

i once told you id never get upset about you

you once told me you’d always find a way back to me

i once told you that i would do it.

you once told me that if i did you’d break up with me.

i now sit. on the bathroom counter. with the thoughts flooding back. understanding but not quite understood.
