The path of no return

Albix

I would like to join the melodious breath

Of the  wind's whistle  all around

In this corner of the mountain,

if I could only forget

 the world I come from!

But how can I forget

That birds of death  circling

Over our heads?

How it can be forgotten

 We are  living  surrounded

 by volcanoes of war,

as a powder magazine

at the mercy of the power?

And when the sky embraces the retreating sun,

a ring shining charming and desperate

leads me to wonder

if humanity has not already taken

a path of no return.

And so many may wonder. Time will tell and we will see. A well written poem of humanity's poor decisions and downfall maybe. Well done

Thanks very much for your empathetic comment!

Time will tell if this write of humanity's ongoing decision's have us pass the breaking point, enjoyed the read

        • Albix

Of course, I hope my pessimism is exaggerated. However, when I wrote these verses, many years ago, I saw the world on the brink of the abyss. Today, I would perhaps express the anguish I felt then in a more balanced way, and yet I can't be overly optimistic. Thanks for your comment PL.

It's pretty comforting to know that !

                • Albix

Thank you for your comment, Lorenz. However, when I composed this poem, I felt very discouraged; and even today, with all the wars that have been waged recently, my spirits have not improved. It's possible that the meaning of your comment was ironic; but nevertheless, I thank you again for your comment, and I apologize if, by any chance, I have caused you any discomfort with my verses. In my daily life, I try to live joyfully, even if, in the background, a sense of insecurity lingers in my soul due to the excessive place that man continues to give to weapons. I still trust in poetry, so that it can save this world that I perceive as sick with violence and the desire of prevailing over each other.

                    I understand ! I am always a bit provocative !

                    • Albix

And I hope it doesn't work (if we're thinking rhe same thing). Thanks for your comment anyway Keeter.
