Whispers in the Stars' dream

Violet_Writes

Is what we did forgotten,
Our words beneath streetlights' gleam?
What we had is now forgotten,
Our whispers in the stars' dream.

It hurts, but maybe it’s right,
What we shared was for one night.
Maybe it was a lie, or truth, or pain,
Maybe our hearts no longer beat the same.

What we had beneath the moon,
Floating like the words we said and did.
Is it in the stars now? All I have to say,

Is that lights will reflect, and love may fade,
But my heart and memories won't trade.
They won’t fade, not when they're about you.
It hurts, and I’m still sore.

I'm still healing, tears brimming,
But I can’t let this be.
What we had, what we said, is it gone?
Has it vanished?

Are we still hurting, or is one of us just clingy?
I can't tell, but I can see,
I think in stars, and I'm no more to me.

What we had on that street, under everything,
Was it a lie, lie, lie,
Or truth that hurt like no lie?
Is what we had, what we had, in the stars tonight?

A questioning poem of a relationship once ablaze now in question as to whether it will continue to burn. Is the wood dry or green and will the fire burn or go out? Nicely done

Lie ,lie, lie ...Lalaland in the stars .

  • Poetic Licence

A heartfelt write asking if the fire that once raged has burnt out, or is there still some embers to reignite the relationship, nicely expressed and written
