Breakfast In Bed

Bruce Washington

We go through life like water into rain

Summer into winter, our pain into hope

Joy into tears, sunlight into darkness

Love into hate, with remorse in regrets

Hoping for the sun to rise, to be clothed

Without shame

To be embraced with a hug, to cover the pain

A day with laughter to see my reflection in the mirror

Breakfast In Bed

A cool breeze soothes through my doors

A winter storm

Only to realize it's summer outdoors

My mind is in a fritz, twisted in linen sheets

Overcoming my worries by echo's of love

I was inches away of my shadow walking away

Glad to say I decided to stay
