Notice of absence from Poetic Licence
Today
I will not starve to
Death
Or Be shot
Unlike Some

Wonderful Day.

 

Today I have food and a roof over my head.

I know I will not starve to death

Or be shot dead.

I guess I should be thankful I am still alive

If I don’t feel that way, would that be okay

I think I have run out of positive things to say

Excuse me, I’ll pack up my conscience and guilt

And be on my way
